Edwards Jr.'s double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

James Edwards Jr.

26-year old American center James Edwards Jr. (211-C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Al Ittihad Jeddah and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
He got a double-double of 28 points and 13 assists, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Deba (#11, 0-12) with 26-point margin 98-72. It allowed Ittihad to consolidate first place in the Saudi Arabian league. Ittihad have a solid 13-2 record. In the team's last game Edwards Jr. had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 11 attempts. He turned to be Ittihad's top player in his first season with the team. Southern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Edwards Jr. is in league's top in assists (6th best: 5.2apg) and averages solid 52.3% FGP and 46.8% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Antonio Campbell (206-F-1994) of Al Fateh Al Hasa. He is American forward in his first season at Al Fateh. In the last game Campbell recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Al Fateh to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Al Khaleej (#10, 4-11) 104-83. This victory allowed Al Fateh to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Campbell is a newcomer at Al Fateh and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Ittihad's star - guard Kevin Murphy (197-G-1990). Murphy showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Al Ittihad Jeddah, helping his team with a 98-72 easy win against Deba (#11, 0-12). Ittihad confirms their top position in the standings. Murphy has a very solid season. In 14 games in Saudi Arabia he scored 18.9ppg. He also has 6.5rpg, 3.9apg and a FGP of 52.7%.
